About Me

My name is Christina Johnston and I am a HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist and full member of The British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and I am currently a BAAT NI committee member. I completed my MSc Art Psychotherapy degree in 2021 and my BA (Hons) Fine Art degree in 2019.

I set up Christina Art Therapy as a response to the growing art therapy needs within Northern Ireland. Furthermore, through Christina Art Therapy I have predominately worked with primary schools under the Healthy Happy Minds Programme and within Community Centres facilitating one-to-one art therapy, group art therapy and an art for wellbeing programme that I created called 'Healthy Creations'. Additionally I currently hire a space in Lisburn for private practice.

 I have also worked within different organisations such as;

Sally Gardens Community Centre (June 2022 - Present)

Resurgam Healthy Living (June 2022 - Present)

The Education Authority NI (January 2022 - Present)

PIPS Hope and Support (June 2021 - May 2022)

Links Counselling (May 2021 - Present)

uHub Therapy Centre (Feb 2020 - August 2022)

I have worked with clients between the ages of 5 and 70 through individual and group art therapy and the  Healthy Creations programme.

If you are interested in art therapy, art for mental health programmes, or art work shops please do not hesitate to contact me and we can discuss the appropriate and available options.
